Inclement “Winter” Weather Plan

As we move into the colder months, it is a good time to review how you will receive weather information from Seattle Public Schools. If snow or ice in the Seattle area affects road conditions, schools may have schedule changes.

Based on weather conditions, we have two possible scenarios – two-hour late start with in-person learning or school buildings closed with students at home engaged in remote learning. To learn more about the two possible scenarios for winter weather, staying informed, and transportation visit the SPS website. Families will receive communication from the district if we have a two-hour delay or are switching to remote learning. Our Remote Learning Plans are pictured below.

Devices have been checked out to all students. Some students already take devices to and from school or they are stored in classrooms. Classroom teachers will communicate their specific plan for bringing devices to and from school during the school week. This will vary by grade level. Initial device set up instructions can be found on the SPS website.

All students will access remote learning via Seesaw and Microsoft Teams. Classroom teachers will email information about accessing Teams links and Seesaw. Remote learning schedules will also be posted to Seesaw. Initial log-in instructions for Microsoft Teams and Seesaw can be found on the SPS website.
