School Safety
To ensure student safety and adherence to District policy and state law, all Seattle Public Schools staff complete mandatory trainings pertaining to student safety each year. Additionally, Coe Elementary maintains a comprehensive school safety plan that includes prevention/mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery strategies.
In alignment with district safety and security procedures, exterior doors at Coe Elementary will remain locked during the school day. Parents/visitors may only access the building through the main door buzz in system and secure vestibule.
Coe follows procedures and protocols outlined by the Seattle Public Schools Safety & Security Department. This department is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
