The staff at Coe Elementary strives to meet the needs of every student. If a teacher or parent has a concern regarding academics, social skills, behavior, motor development, and/or speech and language skills, the Student Intervention Team serves as resource for brainstorming intervention strategies to promote success.
The SIT team meets with one family and the classroom teacher on a weekly basis. The team discusses students’ strengths, concerns, background information, assessment data, interventions tried, and academic progress.
A range of staff members make up the team in order to provide a variety of expertise and educational backgrounds, on a case by case basis.
This may include:
- Principal
- School Psychologist
- Special Education Resource Teachers
- General Education Teachers
- Reading Specialist
- Nurse
- Occupational Therapist
- Speech and Language Pathologist
- ELL Teacher
