    Tour Guide

Believe or not we are already starting to plan for the next school year. I want you to be aware of Coe’s upcoming tour dates and open house.  The dates are posted on Coe’s website and we will publicize them in the bulletin for many weeks as well. We ask for your help in letting your friends, neighbors, and relatives (in Coe’s attendance area) know.  We will not be scheduling individual tours during the months of January or February.  We get many requests for this type of tour, but my schedule cannot keep pace with the number of requests. Encourage neighbors and friends to come tour at a scheduled time. New student registration for next year begins on Monday, January 6. Open Enrollment is February 3 – February 14. If you want to put in for a change of schools, Feb. 3 - 14 is the time to do this.

Coe’s day time tour dates for new families and incoming kindergarten families are:

    Thursday, January 23, 8:00-9:30 a.m.

    Thursday, February 13, 8:00-9:30 a.m.

Class tours will start promptly at 8:00 a.m. and end at 8:55 a.m. At 9:00 a.m. I will make a presentation in the library. It typically lasts for 30 minutes including time for questions and answers.

Coe’s open housewill take place on Wednesday,February 5, from 6:30-7:30 p.mStudent council officers and I will present; kindergarten teachers will be introduced. Prospective families can see classrooms, but there will be no students present so it is different from a daytime visit. If families want to see classrooms in action, the daytime tour is the one to attend. Information presented will be the same at both events so parents need only attend one date.

Rules for tours and the open house:  No children except babes in arms, please; these events are for adults only.  We ask that parents RSVP so we can plan for enough tour guides. Email ldloewe@seattleschools.org to let us know you want to come for a tour.

Thanks for helping us get the word out about early enrollment - especially for kindergartners.  Early enrollment helps us plan for the next school year.
