Before/After School Programs
Coe offers many after school activities for our students. Including (but not limited to) choir, musical theatre, foreign language options, archery, unicycle, rollerblading, hip-hop dance, Math Olympiad, coding, sewing, art club, and more. Specific information (dates, costs, times) about each club or activity is sent home via the Wednesday parent bulletin. The individual organization or individuals who lead the activities are who is to be contacted if you have questions. Coe Elementary does not run the activities, but does provide space.
Safety Patrol at Coe Elementary is an opportunity available to fourth and fifth graders who have demonstrated a track record of reliable and responsible behavior and who are able to be early to school and stay late. Typically, the patrols rotate every 3 weeks. They are on duty one week and off 2 weeks from September to June.
Students assist in crossing pedestrians at the crosswalks on 7th Avenue West and 6th Avenue West before and after school. They help students cross safely at the designated crosswalks. Students build leadership skills while simultaneously keeping students safe in their route to and from school.
Ms. Soike (a Coe teacher) administers the safety patrol program, including training of the patrols. Interested students must fill out an application and be selected. Typically, trainings are held twice per year in October and April (this may vary). Applications will be available prior to trainings and are announced in the Coe weekly bulletin.
Contact Ms. Soike (email@example.com) if you have questions about safety patrol.
